Adiminstrative Regions: Prior to 1991, there were 14 administrative regions/Province(Kifle Hagar) which were divided into 102 Awrajas. The Awrajas were divided in 577 Woredas. The present government has changed the provinces to 9 ethnically-based administrative regions (kilil) and three chartered cities.Below you will find three maps:

1. The present Kilil or ethinicity based map.

2. The old Province based map.

3. The Kilil and Old Province map to show how much of a province has been incorporated into each kilil and vice versa.
